What is Vabbing?

To keep my workout schedule, I usually van to the gym. Gabbing is a combination of vaping and dabbing. It’s when you’re vaping while performing an exercise or workout. Vaping is healthier than smoking because there is no tar and chemicals in e-liquids. As a result, vaping has been shown to help people who want to stop smoking cigarettes quit. Vaping does have some health risks, but they are far less harmful than cigarettes. Although it doesn’t always seem like it, e-cigarettes are still considered a tobacco product, meaning those under 18 years old cannot purchase them from any retailer or online store.


The new ‘vab’ trend may seem like a harmless way to blow off some steam during a workout, but many TikTok users are getting sickened by the ‘nasty’ trend. 

In this social media craze, people are seen taking hits of vaporized weed on their smartphones while they exercise. The idea is that inhaling marijuana will help them recover from their workouts and help them feel less sore and tired. 

The problem with vabbing is that it can impair your ability to make rational decisions or even focus on what you’re doing at the moment. Plus, it opens up an opportunity for someone to steal your phone and quickly get access to all of your personal information if you don’t lock it properly first.

Wait, Vabbing At The Gym Is What Exactly

I went to the gym today, and while I was on one of my treadmills, I saw a woman sitting in front of me holding a vape. So naturally, this made me curious as to what she was doing. After speaking with her for a few minutes, I discovered that she vapes while exercising! This is pretty cool because who wants to smell like sweat when you’re trying to get your workout on? The only problem is that vaping can lead to lung damage, so it’s important not to over-indulge.

Does Vabbing At The Gym Work?

One of the most popular ways to relieve pain is using a vaporizer. Vaporizers are medically approved devices that allow you to inhale a vaporized mixture of herbs and water to relieve pain. Vaping has been shown to help people who suffer from chronic back or neck pain, headaches, arthritis, or other conditions. A common way to use a vaporizer is with another treatment like yoga or an exercise routine.

Proper Etiquette for Vaping At The Gym
  1. Ask before you vape. Not every person who goes to the gym is ok with vaping. And not every person who vapes wants to be around people when they do it.

  2. If you’re vaping inside, ensure your vapor is not entering anyone’s face or mouth (keep it in front of you). Vaping should never be done within proximity of other people. This includes on a machine or bench press next to someone else or while waiting for equipment other people are using.

  3. Don’t vape during class time unless that class expressly permits it. Many people use their workout time as an opportunity for meditation, reflection, and even prayer – so ask before you vape!
