There are many different types of metal, but not all are created equal. Some types of metal have specific characteristics that make them better than others in certain applications and worse in others. What Is Metal

Metals come in wide varieties but can generally be classified as either ferrous or nonferrous. Ferrous metals contain an abundance of iron and Nickel, while nonferrous contain no iron or Nickel– think copper, zinc, aluminum, silver, and gold.

Iron (Wrought or Cast)
Iron is the most widely used material in the world. It’s the most used metal because it can be found naturally in rocks and sand. Iron is also one of the most accessible metals because it’s very malleable and ductile. Iron is often made into steel, or wrought iron, which has a low carbon content and is easier to forge than cast iron. But wrought iron does not hold its shape as well as steel when put under pressure. Wrought iron will bend. But steel will snap under the same pressure.
Aluminum
To avoid corrosion problems when using aluminum panels, manufacturers take steps to keep them dry. First, they coat them with a protective film or paint, usually made from silicon nitride or silicon dioxide. They also use an anodizing process, which prevents corrosion and gives the metal a more robust surface. In addition, they typically add spacers between the panes to reduce condensation and prevent rusting between the panes.
Magnesium
However, magnesium has an unfortunate tendency to catch fire when it comes into contact with water. This makes it unsuitable for use in electrical wiring or areas with a high fire risk. In these cases, aluminum can be used as a substitute. Aluminum: It’s easy to shape and not too heavy, so it’s suitable for making containers such as cooking pots or vehicles that need lightweight like airplanes. And the fact that aluminum does not rust means you can leave it outside without any protection, and it will stay new for many years! Copper: Copper can be alloyed with zinc and other metals to make durable bronze alloys, which was only discovered around 4500 BC.
Copper
A copper penny is worth about 2 cents. Copper was first mined in 6000 BC, and in the 1800s, it became popular building material. Copper is still used today to insulate electrical wires and pipes. It can also be used to make bronze and brass.
Titanium

Nickel

Most nickel production comes from extractions from laterite deposits, followed by nickel sulfide ore (NiS), lateritic ores such as pentlandite, and finally sulfide ores such as millerite and Nickel.
Nickel has many uses because of its strength, durability, resistance to corrosion, variety of available forms, and relatively low cost compared to other metals.
