Tabitha Jane Hodges
One of my absolute favorite authors, Tabitha Jane Hodges, just announced the release of her first book, Love Under the California Stars and I was able to get an advanced copy! After spending the past three days devouring this book, I can honestly say that it made me feel every single emotion known to humankind (and then some). So, if you like sweet romance with just enough angst to keep things interesting, this one is for you! Here’s my honest review of Tabitha Jane Hodges’ debut novel.
Early Life
An ordinary life. That’s all it seemed like for Tabitha Jane Hodges. Every day was a normal routine: she’d wake up in the morning and make her way to her job as a barista at her family’s coffee shop. She attended classes Monday through Friday at San Francisco State University and returned home after hours to wash dishes and wait tables at her family’s diner. She did have a boyfriend from time to time – sometimes he stayed around for months before deciding that he needed something else or sometimes just days if he found someone better. Then there were those few special people who impacted her life and never left her side.
Career & Education
I’m Tabitha. Wife to Aaron. Mommy to Maxwell. Daughter of John & Wanda Loyd. Sister to Ryan, Ethan,& Brandon.
I was born in South Korea (the first ever Korean baby delivered there) to a loving family but knew nothing of their history or cultural heritage; I only grew up knowing that I am mixed with Korean & African American bloodlines and proudly celebrating my diverse background with great joy! However, after the sudden death of my father in 2015, everything changed–on some level–and my story is no different than so many others who are desperately trying to cope without their original pillar.
Facts about Tabitha Hodge’s Mother, Kim
Growing up, Tabitha says she spent the majority of her time in my bedroom, sitting in a pile of books with a box of markers or paint set out in front of me. This laid-back atmosphere led to her being an avid artist today. As an only child, Tabitha enjoyed school and could learn without being too competitive because there were only 20 kids in her class. After high school, Tabitha attended the University of Georgia, majoring in Journalism with a minor in English. After graduating from college, Tabitha moved to Nashville, TN, where she got her first job as a graphic designer for CMT. It was there that she would eventually meet Blake Shelton, whom she would eventually go on to marry!
Tabitha Jane Hodges Net Worth
Ever since I was little, I knew that all I wanted to do was tell stories. That’s what got me through the loss of my father when I was only 5 years old. Stories gave me hope for the future.
I studied journalism at Temple University in Philadelphia, interned at Cosmopolitan Magazine in New York City, and even had an internship with Nike in Portland before moving back to Arizona – where it all began.
After living here for a few years, I decided it was time to make an actual plan for myself, so that’s when I went to ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication full-time.
Availability On Social Media
One way to get noticed in this noisy world is by making yourself visible. Tabitha Jane Hodges uses the power of Instagram to create a platform for herself and share what inspires her. The captivating photos that capture the beauty she finds in nature are a visual feast of natural splendor with just enough hints of her sassy personality to make them personal. Browse your Instagram feed for a day or two, and you’ll see why so many people love Tabitha’s feed!
She also has an active Snapchat account (tabbyjanehodges) where she shares details from her life from a fresh perspective that combines fun facts about food, like the origin of cookie dough ice cream cones, with deep thoughts about the world around us.
Final Verdict
I read Tabitha’s blog for its quick wit and candid honesty about life. Her willingness to be vulnerable makes her posts so easy to relate to. She has a way of making mundane moments feel magical through her truly inspiring words! Tabitha blogs about everything from marriage to motherhood with eloquence, grace, and humor. I often find myself rereading her posts or going back just for a refresher course in not taking life too seriously (although sometimes it is needed).
