Health care has been a hot-button issue in the U.S. for years, and the battle between Negin Behazin and Dignity Health is just one of many battles to come. Negin Behazin Sues Dignity Health For Gender Discrimination
In the act of courage and defiance, Negin Behazin, the former CEO of a California hospital, has filed a lawsuit against her former employer for alleged gender discrimination. Negin Behazin Sues Dignity Health for Violating Her Right to Dignity
In June 2018, Negin Behazin filed suit against Dignity Health for failing to provide her with a safe and dignified birthing experience. The lawsuit alleges that the hospital failed to accommodate her request for a natural birth, ignored her wishes not to have an episiotomy (a surgical cut used to enlarge the opening of the vagina), and deprived her of adequate pain management. In addition, the lawsuit claims that she was not provided with adequate nutrition or hydration during labor.
After being transferred from one hospital to another to give birth, Behazin had an emergency C-section because she was already 10 cm dilated.
