However, many of these smaller cities have an economy or industry that propels them to regional prominence. Even without the large numbers of people in other areas of the country. 1. New York City

New York City is the most popular city in the United States and the centre of the New York metropolitan area. It was first incorporated as a city in 1898. The five boroughs—the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island—were consolidated into one city in 1898. NYC’s population is over 8 million people, with new citizens coming days due to the multicultural aspect that draws many people to it.
The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World) has become an icon of freedom and one of the most recognizable symbols in history. People from all over come to visit this national monument.
Los Angeles

In 1930, more than ten years before the census recorded more than one million residents, Los Angeles became America’s third largest city. The discovery of oil in 1901 brought rapid economic and population growth. By 1930 the population was already approaching three million people, double what had been only 10 years before. It had long been a region dominated by agriculture, but industrialization and migration soon took over as Los Angeles grew steadily. Today the city is also home to 3.8 million people, with newcomers arriving every day seeking fortune or just looking for a fresh start.
Chicago
The Chicago metropolitan area is a lot more than just a city! With nearly 10 million people, it is the third most populous region in the United States. It is known for its scenic views of beautiful lakes and, of course. The skyline includes magnificent high-rises and world-famous architectural wonders. And did we mention all the award-winning restaurants? You can find yourself in an array of restaurants, from classic to delicious fusion creations, as Chicago offers some of the best cuisines in North America.
Phoenix
In the southwestern United States, Phoenix is the fifth most populous city in the country. This city was founded during a time of desperate need in 1868 when it had to be relocated after it was destroyed by a flood and an epidemic of smallpox. The name of this town derives from its location near where the Salt River met with Tempe Canal and its previous purpose as a farming community. Recently, Phoenix has grown more rapidly than any other large metropolitan area. Due to its warm weather, proximity to freeways and airports, and various career opportunities available there. However, despite these improvements, Phoenix still suffers from high poverty rates.
Houston
The population of Houston is estimated to be around 2.3 million and ranked seventh in the United States as of 2017. The metropolitan area of Houston, also known as the Greater Houston Area, has a population exceeding 6.7 million and ranks as the fourth most populous area in the country, behind New York City’s metropolitan area (21.7 million), Los Angeles’ metropolitan area (13.3 million) and Chicago’s metropolitan areas (9.4 million).
Philadelphia
Founded by William Penn in 1682, Philadelphia is one of the original thirteen colonies and has served as the capital of Pennsylvania since 1790. It was built on a plan created by Charles L’Enfant. They designed Washington D.C. based on his observations of American colonial towns for George Washington. The Independence Hall is where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were debated and adopted – both signed in Philadelphia! The Benjamin Franklin bridge connects Center City with Camden, NJ, home to several corporate offices such as Campbell Soup Company and Sunoco Incorporated. Some of the most important Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in New Jersey!
San Diego
The least populous city on the list is Yakima, Washington. It has a population of 92,886 and is ranked fifth as the most populated city. Philadelphia has the largest population, with 1,580,863 people. The runner-up is NYC, with 8,405,837 people. The median age for San Diego is 35 years old, with about 45% being 18-39 years old.
San Jose, California
San Jose is the smallest and most densely populated city in the Bay Area. Situated about 60 miles south of San Francisco, it has a population of nearly one million people. In addition, I recently moved here from Silicon Valley with my family to experience life in this diverse city.
Dallas
Dallas and its suburbs will have a diverse array of shopping districts. The most popular area is the West Village, where you can browse through small boutiques and specialty stores. The Northpark Mall is also a popular area for locals and tourists, with its wide selection of shops. In addition, the suburb Plano is home to the thriving downtown district known as Downtown Plano, which features over 150 shops, restaurants, offices, parks, and hotels.
Austin, Texas
There are countless breathtaking hikes close to Austin, including a few challenging routes with steep inclines called Sitton Gulch or Tarrytown Loop Trail. So, Which can be found near Lake Travis and Hamilton Pool Preserve.
