How to take apart Xbox one

Make sure to turn off your Xbox One and unplug the power cord before beginning disassembly. Also, ensure you wear protective gloves and glasses while disassembling the Xbox One. Failure to do so could cause severe injury, damage your device or void your warranty. Follow each step closely and be careful not to lose any small screws or other parts from the case during disassembly because they are minimal and could be challenging to find if lost. It is also recommended that you take photos of each step for reference later on in reassembly.

What is an apart Xbox one?

This is a guide on how to take apart the Xbox One. Please be aware this will void your warranty.

1. Put a towel or something soft over the top of the Xbox so that you don’t scratch it when you’re taking it out of the box. Next, remove all packaging, cords, and any included accessories that don’t need to be removed (like game discs).
2. Remove the four T8 Torx screws on each side of the Xbox One with a Torx screwdriver. There are two screws at each end and two in between them. Make sure not to lose these.
   With a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the eight Phillips head screws holding down the plastic shield protecting the hard drive bay. 
3. Gently pry open the plastic shield with a small flathead screwdriver. Be careful not to break anything here.
4. Take off the silver metal hard drive cage by lifting it gently while pushing back on any cables connecting to it. Once removed, disconnect all of its cables by pressing down on their white tabs while pulling them away from the rigid drive cage. 
5. Unplug both power cables from either side of the black plastic connector located next to where we just removed our hard drive cage from.

How to see the cd drive

This is how you can see the cd drive in an Xbox One. First, turn off your Xbox One by holding the power button on the front of your console for 8 seconds. Once the light turns off, find a small hole at the bottom of your console with a green light next to it. This is where you will insert a paper clip or other thin instrument to push down and release the top cover. The top cover should pop up, and then you can remove it from the rest of your console. From there, use something pointy like a pen or screwdriver to poke through any plastic tabs that are holding down cables inside your Xbox One console so they’ll come loose enough for you to pull them out quickly.

How to remove the fan

You’ll need to remove the top cover to get the fan out of the console. To do this, use a Torx T8 screwdriver and remove these screws: 

1. On the rear of the system at about 2 o’clock 2. At 4 o’clock 3. At 6 o’clock 4. At 8 o’clock 5. The final two screws are on either side of the Kinect port on top 6. When all screws are removed, you can pull off the top cover. There will be wires connecting it to the motherboard, which you must unplug before obliterating. You now have access to the fan. If your fan is not spinning, carefully remove any dust or debris around it. Then try plugging in the console again.
